Volkswagen has released more images of its upcoming VW Golf GTI Cabriolet together with brief press release that focused on performance accreditation naming this convertible version as the fastest Golf GTI Cabriolet in the GTI history since it all began almost 36 years ago.
With 155kW/280Nm of power from its 2.0L four-cylinder turbo engine the GTI Cabriolet will reach 100km/h in 7.3s and has a top speed of 237km/h. The all new GTI Cabriolet is also the most fuel efficient in tits class with an average fuel consumption of 7.3L/100km.Scheduled for release in June this year the all new Golf GTI Cabriolet will retail for 31,350 Euros when it goes on sale in Germany.
Apart from the obvious GTI trademark features such as red-framed honeycomb grille design the Cabriolet will also get automatic roll-over protection, reinforced windscreen frame and XDS (electronic transverse differential lock) as part of the standard equipment. Volkswagen Australia is yet to confirm if the all-new VW Golf GTI Cabriolet will be coming Down Under.
